Prof Vik Khullar BSc, MD, MRCOG, AKC

Vik Khullar is a subspecialist in urogynaecology, Clinical lead of Urogynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital, and Professor of Practice (Urogynaecology), Imperial College, London, United Kingdom. He completed his medical training at King’s College Hospital, London training under the supervision of Professor Linda Cardozo.

Prof Khullar’s clinical interests include quality-of-life issues, surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and vaginal prolapse, and topics related to urodynamics with an especial interest in overactive bladder its aetiology and treatment. He has been investigating the relationship between the immune system and urinary symptoms particularly in Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and recurrent urinary tract infections. He is the co-author of over 300 papers and chapters on urogynaecology.

Prof Khullar is a member of several organizations, including the International Continence Society, International Urogynecology Association and the British Society of Urogynaecology. He was the past chair of the ICS internet committee and successfully digitised the membership of the International Continence Society in 1999 which increased the membership of the organisation from 500 to over 2000 within 2 years. He an ex member of the ICS education committee, ICS terminology committee, past chair of the ICS publication committee.

He is a past vice chairman and founding treasurer of the British Society of Urogynaecology and past vice chair of the urogenital specialty group of the NIHR. He is on the editorial board of a number of journals. At present he is chair of the IUGA/AUGS writing group on female bladder pain, co-chair of the EUGA scientific committee and chair of the ICI Imaging committee.
