Shannon Novosad, MD, MPH is a Medical Officer on the Hospital Infection Prevention Team in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She completed internal medicine residency training at Duke University and subspecialty training in pulmonary/critical care medicine at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). She joined CDC as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. While at CDC, she has been involved in outbreak investigations in healthcare facilities as well as projects focusing on the prevention of CLABSIs and CAUTIs.
