Across two days and 47 workshops, the ICS’s educational programme aims to provide high quality learning opportunities across a diverse range of topics, representing the Society’s multidisciplinary approach to continence care. This year’s workshops cover a broad range of subjects including paediatrics and geriatrics, bladder and bowel, conservative and surgical management, plus many more.
For Beijing 2012 we have just confirmed a brand new all-day workshop entitled ‘Basic to Advanced Clinical Urodynamics’. This workshop will offer a comprehensive overview of urodynamics, with faculty from around the globe speaking on the theory and practice of urodynamics as well as presenting clinical case studies, and is free for local Chinese delegates.
This year we have two FREE workshops in the educational programme. The ‘Conservative Management of incontinence’ workshop is aimed at allied health professionals, particularly local nurses in China, to provide healthcare professionals with a renewed interest in asking the question “do you have any problems with bladder control?”. The second free workshop is entitled ‘Spinal Cord Injuries and Neurogenic Bladder’ which is a Continence Promotion Committee initiative to publicise the prevalence of spinal cord injured patients and neurogenic bladder. The workshop will cover diagnosis, assessment and treatment.
An application is in process for all of the workshops in the educational programme to be CME accredited by the European Urology - Accredited Continuing Medical Education (EU-ACME). Attendance at ICS workshops entitles you to 1 CME credit per hour and you will also be issued with a certificate of attendance, or if you have an EU-ACME card, the credits can be added at the meeting.
