The ICS Standardisation Steering Committee is pleased to confirm that we have two new terminology document Working Groups (WGs) open for application. These groups are briefly outlined below and are accompanied by the attached scoping documents. The second WG is in association with IUGA.
The following two working groups are open to ICS members to join as either Chair or Member. You must state in the covering email whether you are applying to be Chair or Member (or both) and which of the two projects you wish to apply for. Please send a short CV (no more than 3 pages) with a covering statement explaining why you wish to apply for this position.
Working Group A: Male anorectal dysfunction
There is a need for terminology on male anorectal function. Terminology for anorectal function exists in females and has been recently published in the January 2017 issues of the International Urogynecology Journal and Neurourology and Urodynamics. Due to its increasing complexity, a male-specific approach and clinically-based consensus report is needed.

Working Group B: ICS-IUGA Joint Report on the Terminology for Female Pelvic Floor Fistulae.
The terminology for female pelvic floor fistula (PFF) should be defined and organised in a clinically-based consensus report. This will be a very useful and important report for the many groups interested in this challenging area. This ICS-IUGA Terminology project will be in collaboration with the American Urogynecological Association (AUGS).

This can be a time-challenge, one however with considerable professional satisfaction on completion, that you personally have contributed to “getting the basics right” in a particular aspect of the fields we cover. You have helped clarify understanding and standardise communication. There’s an international camaraderie with other working group members and an individual and collective expansion of knowledge by being involved.
