Are you a physiotherapist interested in pelvic floor dysfunction? What better way to decide whether to submit an abstract or attend ICS 2017 in Florence than with an overview of ICS 2016.

Tokyo was a great time for Physiotherapy! This year the Physiotherapy Committee achieved a key objective for their committee and profession, awarding Kari Bø the ICS lifetime achievement award 2017. All of the physiotherapy committee members worked really hard to make this possible over the last couple of years. We all know how much Kari has done for pelvic floor physiotherapy and her commitment to science and research! This was a really great time for all Physiotherapy members, we know that she has improved the quality of life for many people affected with pelvic floor dysfunctions worldwide.

Workshops
We had workshops led by physiotherapists and multidisciplinary workshops showing how essential physiotherapy and conservative management in the field of incontinence. “E-health in Pelvic Floor Disorders” chaired by Eva Samuelsson gave an overview of eHealth solutions with the focus on mobile applications for treatment of pelvic floor disorders. "Conservative Management of Adult Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: a Physiotherapy Approach", chaired by Margaret Sherburn was a committee led, basic workshop providing an understanding of the physiotherapy assessment of IU and POP, providing the learner with the clinical reasoning to diagnose and plan the conservative management of these conditions. This are just a few examples, delegates had many more workshops to choose from the programme..

Physiotherapy Round Table
Opened and chaired by Heather Moky, the round table was an opportunity for physiotherapists, or anyone interested in physiotherapy, to network, enjoy presentations from emerging and established researchers and clinical leaders. Committee reports were provided by our Committee Chair Doreen Mcclurg. This was followed by Melanie Morin, Wendy Bower and Kari Bø who gave high level lectures before their amazing workshops. Each delegate could choose from two workshops, topics included anal incontinence, effect of peripartum PFME, ICF as an assessment tool and many more.

State of the Art Lectures
Available to view on ICS TV, are three very interesting lectures, including "Metabolic Syndrome and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms" (Osamu Yokoyama),"Central Nervous System Mechanisms in Voiding Dysfunction" (Bertil F.M. Blok), and "The Genetics of Lower Urinary Tract Disease the Promise of Stratified Medicine" (Rufus Cartwright).

The International Consultation on Incontinence (ICI) presented a series of lectures on the updated findings of the 6th consultation containing evidence informed guidelines on the management of urinary and faecal incontinence. The book will be available later this year and ICS members have the ability to pre-order at a reduced rate.

All Physiotherapy committee members are really excited about ICS 2017 in Florence! It is undeniably an unequalled scientific meeting. We want to invite and encourage all Physiotherapists to come to this event that will increase your personal knowledge and skills. The ICS is a multidisciplinary association pertaining to the highest scientific standards and bringing a spectrum of the very best incontinence and pelvic floor disorder research from basic science to large clinical trials.
