ICS Nursing member, Lawrence Gichini, has been awarded Nurse of the Year Award for Nairobi County, at the 56th Scientific Conference of the National Nurses Association of Kenya.
This was the very first time the National Nurses Association and the Ministry of Health included private hospitals in the gruelling search and interviews for the Nurse of the Year Awards in Kenya. Lawrence beat off stiff competition from all private and public institutions in Nairobi, he went on to take the 2nd position nationally and received his award from the Deputy President of the republic of Kenya. Lawrence's work includes devotion to stoma care and cancer rehabilitation, which was cited as a key contributor to the award.
