We would like to remind you of our invitation to the ICS membership to comment on the draft strategic plan for the ICS. As an ICS member I welcome your comments in directing the society’s plans for the next 3-5 years.

Please read the draft plan and then take the membership consultation survey here. The consultation closes on 2 July 2013. The survey is 4 questions and time taken to complete is dependent on your input.
Background and progress to date:
- In October 2012, the Board announced the establishment of a 3-5 year strategic plan for the ICS.
- In November 2012, ICS members’ comments helped the strategy team focus on key strengths and issues for the ICS. Since then the board has been actively engaged in analysis, planning and drafting of a strategic plan for ICS under the auspices of Dr. George Levvy, from Compass Partnership Management Consultants.
- The first meeting resulted in a global picture of ICS including its core strengths and future challenges. Areas requiring further consideration were identified as: partners and competitors, financial stability, and governance. This information was supplemented by the results of interviews with corporate stakeholders (sponsors, potential sponsors). A second meeting was held to review this information and agree the principles of the strategic plan. The draft plan is currently out for consultation with the ICS members and key stakeholders and opinion leaders.
- Our goal is to have a document ready to present to the membership at the August 2013 Barcelona meeting.
