Tufan Tarcan, MD, PhD finished his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine (1991) and urology residency at Marmara University (1996). He completed his fellowships in adult and pediatric neurourology in the United States (Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, respectively). He holds a PhD degree at “Histology and Embryology” and his main area of interest is “Functional and Female Urology” and “Pediatric Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction”.
Dr. Tarcan is Professor of Urology at Marmara University School of Medicine Istanbul, since 2006. He is also a Visiting Professor of Urology and at Koç University School of Medicine Istanbul, since 2013. He is director of Functional Urology Units at both Universities.
Dr. Tarcan is the chair of the Urodynamics Committee and member of the Children & Young People Committee at International Continence Society (ICS) and member of ICI Research Society and board member in EAU Section of Functional Urology (ESFU). Dr. Tarcan is past president of the Turkish Continence Society (TCS) and associate editor to Neurourology & Urodynamics, the official journal of SUFU.
