Aims and Objectives
|
Delegates will acquire a current overview of the evaluation of and surgical options and limits of postprostatectomy incontinence (PPI) therapy. Following artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) and sling surgery, recurrent incontinence in common with intermediate and long-term followup. The evaluation of persistent and urinary incontinence and the role of revision surgery with AUS, sling revision or adjustment, and blloons will be discussed. New adjusble devices (slings, balloons, and AUS) are changing the landscape of PPI surgery. Case discussions including the radiated urethra, revision surgery with recurrent incontinence, and following urethral erosion will give practical views of complex aspects and troubleshooting.
Learning Objectives - Discuss the clinical and urodynamic evaluation of postprostatectomy incontinence, and understand which surgical procedure is best for which patient phenotype.
- Evaluate the patient with persistent and/or recurrent incontinence following surgery.
- Understand the surgical options for treating recurrent incontinence with sling revision, sling adjustment, AUS revision, or balloon implantation, including devices currently under investigation.
