Urethral extrusion of an operator tape sling is a rare but serious complication following surgery for stress urinary incontinence. It may lead to pain, recurring infections, avoid dysfunction, and urethral injury point optimal management remains challenging. Specially cases requiring meticulous dissection and concomitant urethral reconstruction.
We report one of five cases of female patients presenting with symptomatic urethral extrusion of a previously placed TOT sling. Clinical evaluation revealed voiding symptoms and local discomfort. Endoscopic and imaging assessment confirmed urethral extrusion of the sling into the urethra
The postoperative curse was uneventful. The patient show improvement and symptoms with satisfactory voiding function, and no evidence of residual extrusion or fistula formation to follow up.
Robot assisted laparoscopic management of urethral extrusion of a TOT sling is a feasible and effective approach, allowing precise dissection and reconstruction in a complex an anatomical setting. This technique may represent a valuable asset in selected cases.
