Aims and Objectives
|
Obstructed defecation syndrome (ODS)can be due to different reasons (rectocele, enterocele, rectal prolapse, intussusception, pelvic floor dyssynergy). Management of ODS depends on a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and function of the anorectal region. Aims of this workshop are to provide participants the basic knowledge on: 1) the normal anatomy of the anorectum, 2) the diagnostic procedures including imaging techniques, manometric and neurophysiologic tests and 3) the main guidelines and indications for the treatment of ODS.
